Sorry, but the passenger side doesn't come equipped with airbags

ARBG, pronounced airbag, is an up and coming DJ out of Portugal. You can usually catch him opening shows with his boy Boots of Steel around Lisboa. Good solid electro. Definitely worth the listen.

might have to use this track on my next mix...

But Shirley You Can't Be Serious?

Wow. Sorry for the 2 week absence. That Halloween week/weekend hit me like a ton of bricks.

Hard was fucking insane and the guys over at GottaDanceDirty pretty much summed it up.

But enough of that.

He's DJed over at Radio 1 and has been getting a name for himself on the live circuit. Look for his album out sometime around the new year.

This new track is, well, fucking ridiculous. I'm still waiting to see his name on the next Control lineup. cough. nudge. wink.

The drop around 1:16 is just mind fucking. I can't wait to hear the rest of the album. More leaks in the meantime?

Danger!

Honestly.... I really don't know too much about Danger!. However, I do know that he'll be making a few select stops this week in the US. Most notably spinning at both HARD (guessing an early set) and (later that night?) headlining Control Friday's at the Avalon.

What I do know: He's off Ekleroshock Records (Paris) and dropped a self-titled album in 2007, but since then has really only been putting out remixes and some singles here and there. I bet if i lived in Paris I'd know more, but I don't so I'll just have to wait til the Avalon to find out.

Villains

Local LA duo Villains spun last night at the Haunted Factory in Compton (??) with Steed Lord. I was unfortunately unable to go but I'm sure they killed it. Pretty old track, but really it never gets old. Gotta love the LA collaboration on this one. Be sure to check out Classixx as well. You can catch them at HARD this Saturday.

This remix is pretty dope too. Enjoy.

Don't Lose Your Head

This is more advice than a song, but it happens to go both ways.

Hot track from last year if you were in the yay.

Loving the minimalist approach on the beat here.

The Shoes are dropping their latest, The People Movin EP, on November 6. To help with the wait and maybe get some people moving here's the self-titled single. Enjoy.

Super Sirius

If you haven't been listening to Gummiband or Let Me In on repeat for the last four months you've definetly been fouling it. Siriusmo is a fairly recluse producer who refuses to DJ live. His latest album was The Uninvited Guest which dropped over the summer. According to his last.fm bio (have I really resorted to this?) he's currently more interested in VST production and graffiti art than music, which is cool by me just as long as he keeps sending us the goods.

Back at It

First off I must apologize. I have neglected the blog and this needs to change.

To start us back on track we have the new Twelves mixtape. I'm still sad that I have not been able to catch these guys live, but hopefully that will change soon. The third episode in their mixtape series, the Brazilians' have got it down. Check out the Daftendirekt teaser a couple minutes in. Money.

Groundation

I was going to talk about Groundation today anyways and it happens to be a great time to do so seeing as they just released a new album. Check out Here I Am, available on iTunes or somewhere cool like here. The bands been around for 10 years now hailing from Northern California. If you dig it look up some of the older albums like Hebron Gate and Each One Teach One.

Bloody Beetroots

Why not? With HARD right around the corner and their new album set to drop at the end of the month, the Beetroots are getting it on. Musically, that is.

BTW. If you want a tasty snack. Take some mixed nuts and cover them in ground cinnamon. Delicious.

Guns Don't Kill People... Lazers Do!

Diplo and Switch come together to create Major Lazer. People can call it what they will, but this is something close to dancehall and house. I can't say I love it because I'm not usually bumping dancehall... ever, but its cool to see these two very prominent DJs/producers branching into new categories like this. Can't wait to catch Mj. Lazer live, i can just see these two dropping some ill dubXdubstepXreggae dancehall babies all over... On that note here's a video and a song. Enjoy!

Treasure Fingers @ the Avalon Tonight!!

Pretty fucking pumped for tonight. I still have yet to see this disco genius in the flesh. Mr. Fingers has been tearing it up lately. The Little Boots - Meddle remix gets me wet everytime. He also recently released a 5-Minute Minimix for Annie Mac's show on BBC's Radio One.

Treasure Fingers is off of A-Trak's label Fool's Gold. The most interesting thing about this guy is he's a member of EVOL INTENT, a wicked drum n bass group/producers. Very genre crossing this guy is.

BTW if anyone can find me a copy of this track, please hook it up.

Takashi Murakami

I've been meaning to add some art on this page too. If you don't know about Takashi Murakami... Murakami did the artwork for Kanye's Graduation album.

Moca held an exhibit on the famous pop artist last year. Highlights

"Apocalyptic Champ"

Apparently there are over 500 different colors used in this print. I bet you can't name them all...

This one might be might favorite "727"

Fake Blood

I got the chance to see Fake Blood at EDC this weekend. Super sick nasty.

He pretty much spun off the first hour of his Essential Mix for Radio 1. If you don't know about the Essential Mix series... wow. Anyways you can check out the tracklisting here and download it here.

The first half of his mix is intended as a club mix, the second half for the after-party, which according to this guy is the party you want to attend.

Deadmau5

First and last time I saw him was at Hard last Halloween. Never hearing him live, I based his dj sets off his albums which are (correct me if i'm wrong), but a mix between trance and house.
Well this dude fucking blew me away when I saw him at Hard. Dropping bombs all over the dance floor.

He's back. Playing at the Hollywood Palladium this Friday. Tickets are a little pricey, but I guess they help buy Deadmau5 new mouse costumes... or more cheese. Moderat and Destructo and These Guys are opening. I don't know anything about those guys, but Moderat and Destructo are pretty legit. For those of you who don't know Destructo, he puts on Hard every year. I'd say he's pretty connected.

Anyways... here's a little cheese to hold you over til the weekend.

Just won game one. Feeling Good. Kobe.. Doin Work. Such a sick game. I'm too jazzed to type anything worth reading.

Jaxxed Up

I'm 22 years old. I'm from Los Angeles. This blog is an attempt to help promote my music as well as others. I'm going to attempt to update daily but thats honestly a joke. I'll let my posts show my musical interests to any that may stumble upon this page. Regardless. Let's start off with a little Basement Jaxx.

This song is off their new album, still untitled, but is already gaining hype with the long list of guest vocals. Super happy, upbeat song. Good to see the Jaxx going a little more pop on this one. I'm confident to say we'll see a remix very soon.
